Penerimaan Mahasiswa Baru (PMB) PCR dilakukan melalui dua jalur, yakni melalui Penjaringan Siswa Unggul Daerah (PSUD) dan Ujian Masuk Politeknik Caltex Riau (UMPCR). Untuk penerimaan mahasiswa melalui jalur PSUD setiap tahun ajaran hanya dilakukan satu kali. Berbeda halnya dengan jalur PSUD, jalur UMPCR tiap tahunnya dilakukan sebanyak dua kali atau dua periode dan dilakukan ujian CBT on site. Pada tahun akademik 2016/2017, Politeknik Caltex Riau menawarkan 2 (dua) program pendidikan , yaitu Program Ahli Madya (D3) dengan 5 (lima) Program Studi dan Program Sarjana Sains Terapan (D4) dengan 5 (lima) Program Studi. Program Studi Sarjana Sains Terapan (D4) tahun ini berbeda dengan tahun sebelumnya, yaitu adanya penambahan program studi D4 Teknik Listrik dan D4 Teknik Mesin.

Politeknik ATMI Surakarta adalah institusi pendidikan tinggi yang berkonsentrasi pada pendidikan vokasi di bidang manufaktur (mesin industri) di Indonesia yang mengadopsi model pendidikan dual system dari Jerman dan Swiss.
